A two-day Rescue Canada course that starts with swimming skills and moves into entrapment drills and practical rescue concepts for anyone working on or near moving water.

What to Expect

  • Defensive and aggressive swiftwater swimming
  • Throw bags, wading and shore-based rescues
  • Entrapment drills and practical rescue concepts
  • Hands-on scenarios on the Kananaskis and Bow rivers

Course Details

  • Schedule: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM daily
  • Location: Canmore and Kananaskis area rivers (meet at 1350 Railway Ave, Unit 100)
  • Prerequisites: comfortable swimming in moving water; good physical fitness
  • Minimum age: 16

What to Bring

  • Dry suit or full wetsuit (rentals may be available – ask when booking)
  • Helmet, PFD and river shoes if you have your own
  • Warm non-cotton layers, toque and a full change of clothes
