The Kananaskis 100 Mile Relay kicks off in the rolling hills of Longview, southwestern Alberta, at 6:00 a.m., where runners will embark on a journey along Highway 541 towards the stunning Rocky Mountains. The route crosses the Highwood Pass, Canada’s highest paved highway, into the scenic Kananaskis Valley, concluding with cross-country legs nine and ten in Kananaskis Village. To ensure completion within 14 hours, forced starts are implemented for slower teams, and teams expecting over 16 hours should contact the race office. Limited to 60 teams for safety, the event uses tiered pricing, with registration starting with just the team captain. The package includes a unique run, morning snacks, team-building opportunities, a post-race meal and party at the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, and T-shirts.
